Get Well Poems Are Both Personal And Special

Get Well Poems are the words that make an individual feel like the giver really cares. Precisely executed words can bring the one who is ill a lot of comfort, especially if the giver is far away and unable to be with them. Get well poems come in all forms, from cards and songs to messages on sweets. Anyone can write a poem, because poems are simply words from the heart put on to paper. How the words are arranged is called poetry. There are a lot of different types of poetry, wishes, verses, sentiments and sayings. Listed below are the two most popular for the beginning writer.

Free Verse – This is the form of writing that has no metered pattern or form. The words are randomly spaced and can take any form the writer chooses. To start just let the creative juices flow. It can be as long or short as the writer chooses.

Rhyming – This is the form of poetry that is the repetition of similar sounds in two or more words. The lines of poetry are similar in length and usually have words sounding the same at the end of the lines.  The following is an example for instructional purposes.   We will use the popular poem of “Roses are Red” to demonstrate get well poems:

Roses are red

Violets are blue

Flowers are pretty

And we care about you.

Notice that the second and fourth lines rhyme in this short stanza. This is a rhyming poem. Any of the lines can rhyme with another, be it the first and second lines or every other line.  Rhyming get well poems are very popular because they can be easy to think up and can be as witty or as mushy as the author prefers.

Of course if you totally feel uninspired or are in a hurry there are all kinds of places to get your get well poems, wishes, verses or sayings for your card or letter. Some great sources for your get well poems are card stores, poetry websites, books on poetry (these can be found at your local library) and even magazines. But the best get well poems are the ones that come from within your heart.  These are the most thoughtful and personal and as such they are much more effective.

If the writer is lacking inspiration for writing get well poems, there are also places to find it. For example, just sit in a park and watch the world go by.  Watching other people (this is the art of sitting quietly and just watching how people interact with one another), be it a couple kissing, children playing, a dog and his master or anything else that happens at a park.  Another way to get inspiration is to listen to or watch the weather. A lot of times stimulation for writing get well poems can come from feeling the weather; such as the rain on your face or the wind as it rushes by. Peaceful places can be a great source and revelation for writing a get well card.  Write down your feelings or what you think others are thinking and as you jot down the notes, you can use your notes to form your get well poems.

Simply put, get well poems express the feelings of the writer, in words, to the person who is ill. These poems need not be long, just a few short lines or verses expressing kind or thoughtful sediments. Remember that the one feeling poorly, just needs to know that someone cares because sometimes it makes their recovery time all the faster.
